# Lesson 37 — Modern Trends in EW

<p class="block-synopsis">Four trends are breaking the assumptions a route is built on. Cognitive EW senses, learns and adapts faster than a threat library can be reprogrammed; an ML emitter classifier is only as good as its confusion matrix, read as Pd and Pfa; a GPS jammer denies a circle whose radius grows as √ERP, and inside it the INS drifts; and space EW turns on geometry — uplink jamming needs the satellite's beam, downlink jamming is local. Pick one for your Final Project's Limitations section.</p>
